County Louth, host club of the 2004 and 2009 Irish Opens. The event in 2009 won by a young Irish amateur by the name of Shane Lowry.
A different test to the clubs we have played already. Not as defined by dunes, and therefore gave the sense of a little more width from the tee. Not sure if that was actually the case, but felt that way.
The club was founded in 1892, but the present course was not designed until 1938, by Tom Simpson.
The club certainly had more of a "country" feel to it, and was very welcoming.
The progression from fairway to "dead" is more subtle. Generally there is some whispy grass, and then you get to the whin bushes and gorse.
Like most clubs here the bunkers are mostly pot bunkers, with rivetted faces, and provide a challenge to extract your ball.

Again we were fortunate with the weather. The forecast had been predicting a poor day, but changed prior to play, and we managed to get through without any rain.

We had two winners again today. Grant Nicholson scored an impressive 39 points, and Elizabeth Knight played some solid golf for her 35 points.
